Job Title: Certified Intervention Teacher (.6 FTE – 3 Days per Week) Reports To: Principal
Position Summary The Certified Intervention Teacher (.6) provides targeted academic and behavioral support to students who require additional intervention in reading, math, and writing. This position focuses on delivering evidence-based interventions, monitoring student progress, and collaborating with staff to improve student outcomes. The teacher will also support students with behavioral needs by implementing structured interventions and promoting positive student behaviors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Instructional Support
- Provide small group and/or individual instruction in reading, math, and writing based on student needs.
- Implement evidence-based intervention programs aligned with school and district goals.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Support Tier II and Tier III interventions within the MTSS framework.
Progress Monitoring & Data Use
- Administer assessments and screeners to identify student needs.
- Monitor student progress regularly and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and intervention effectiveness.
- Collaborate with teachers and administration to analyze data and determine next steps.
Behavioral Support
- Support students with behavioral intervention needs using research-based strategies.
- Assist in implementing behavior plans and monitoring student progress.
- Promote positive behavior supports and social-emotional learning.
- Collaborate with school counselor, behavior specialists, and administration as needed.
Collaboration
- Work closely with classroom teachers to align interventions with core instruction.
- Participate in team meetings, MTSS meetings, and student support discussions.
- Communicate regularly with staff regarding student progress and strategies.
Family Communication
- Communicate with families regarding student progress, strategies, and supports as appropriate.
- Provide resources and suggestions for supporting learning at home.
Qualifications
- Valid state teaching certification (Elementary Education or appropriate certification area required).
- Experience with intervention programs and strategies in reading, math, and writing preferred.
- Knowledge of MTSS/RTI frameworks and progress monitoring tools.
- Experience supporting students with behavioral needs is preferred.
- Strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills.
Work Schedule
- 3 days per week (0.6 FTE)
- Schedule to be determined in coordination with administration based on student and school needs.
Physical Demands
- Ability to work with small groups of students in a classroom setting.
- Occasional standing, walking, and assisting students.
Evaluation Performance will be evaluated in accordance with district policies and professional growth frameworks.
